2023 Harvest Report – Viña Arboleda

2023 season in Las Vertientes and Chilhué vineyards, Aconcagua Valley

This report describes the 2023 season in Las Vertientes and Chilhué vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley:

Las Vertientes Vineyard

A warm season, with significant impact from the coastal trough and vines with good vigour, which protected the fruit and allowed it to ripen slightly earlier, yielding wines with ripe, fresh fruit and fine-grained tannins.

Overall, more winter precipitation and higher temperatures led to balanced vigour in the vineyard, providing sufficient vegetative growth to protect the fruit from solar radiation and to reduce the impact of heat waves. A coastal trough was more influential this season and allowed the grapes to cool rapidly, which preserved more acidity while at the same time protecting them from possible sun damage.

The warm conditions this season resulted in wines with fruity aromas and good colour. Thanks to the coastal trough and effective vineyard management, the wines are fresh and juicy, with elegant tannins and good concentration, all of which augurs well for their cellaring potential.

Chilhué Vineyard

A moderately late season, with a long ripening period that yielded elegant wines with excellent acidity and minerality.

Although the overall heat summation was within the historical average, December and March were warm, while November and February were very cold, resulting in a moderately late season. With a good balance of ripeness and well-preserved acidity in the grapes, the wines display fresh, delicate aromas and the vibrant, vertical attack and mineral finish characteristic of our terroir.
