See All (PDF)
  • The 2021 Brisa is a blend of 42% Syrah, 22% Grenache, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec and 8% Mourvèdre from the Aconcagua Valley. It was 85% aged for 22 months in 40% new French oak barrels and 15% in concrete eggs. The intense, complex nose offers blackberry, sour cherry and pomegranate notes with hints of bay leaf and white pepper. The indulgent, fairly compact feel in the mouth is enlivened by a juicy freshness and texture from the finely grained tannins.

A complex and very poised blend of 42% syrah, 22% grenache, 17% cabernet sauvignon, 11% malbec and 8% mourvedre, showing hints of sweet spices, fine herbs and dried meat to the black cherries, blueberries and tiles. Very succulent and vibrant on the medium- to full-bodied palate, showing lots of definition and length. Contrastive, long but very subtle. Drink from 2024.

  • “My pick of the current Arboleda range, this demonstrates Pancho Baettig’s talents as a blender, marrying mostly Syrah, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon with lesser amounts of Cabernet Franc and Mourvèdre. It’s a Rhône-meets-Bordeaux number, with thyme, mint and rosemary aromas, raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, lovely focus and palate length and aromatic 40% new wood. 2023-28”

The serious, balanced and herbal 2017 Brisa is a blend of 40% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Grenache, 13% Mourvedre and 10% Malbec, quite different from the previous year. It fermented in stainless steel and matured in oak foudres (15% of the volume) and new and used barriques for 22 months. This is more Mediterranean has notes of aromatic herbs and wild berry fruit.
